Sotheby’s Wine is thrilled to begin our November auction with a fabulous selection from the Estate of Robert S Pirie. An avid wine enthusiast and collector, Mr. Pirie compiled his cellar over many years, always selecting the greatest names from the most renowned vintages.

One finds all the First Growths, including full cases of 1982 bottles and 1990 magnums from Château Lafite (est. $20,000 – $28,000 and $5,500 – $7,500, respectively) and a full case of 1982 Château Lafleur (est. $26,000 – $40,000). The sale also features one of the greatest collections of Sine Qua Non ever to be auctioned at Sotheby’s. Highlights from the 70 lots include 6 bottles of 1994 Queen of Spades Syrah (est. $10,000 – $15,000), 2 bottles of 1995 The Bride (est. $7,000 – $10,000) and 2 double magnums of 2010 Stockholm Syndrome, Eleven Confessions Vineyard (est. $6,000 – $8,000). 

There is also some excellent red and white Burgundy from a collection recently donated to the Québec Fine-Arts Museum’s Foundation. Featured lots include rare full cases of DRC, including 1996 Romanée St. Vivant (est. $11,000 – $15,000), and 1991 La Tâche (est. $28,000 – $38,000).
